I liked eating the tofu protein bars. I didn’t so much like chopping up piles of dried fruit and having to bake the bars, however. I subsequently went looking for a different recipe for protein bars and settled upon these.
Sorry, there really isn’t a set recipe for these bars. I found the recipe by going to youtube and searching for homemade protein bars. I imagine you could do the same. There’s a good assortment of tasty stuff in them, including quick oats, chocolate, peanut butter, dried cranberries, and almonds.
I really like these protein bars. Since initially making them in July, I’ve made them several times since. They provide a wide array of flavors and textures and are very filling. Additionally, I put all the ingredients into a nutrition calculator and found that per serving, these have more protein and less carbohydrates than Alton Brown’s tofu protein bars. While that doesn’t make them necessarily better, I prefer to eat my daily carbs from other foods, so any limit in quick snacks is a plus for me.
