I really liked my first attempt at beef jerky. I am, however, quite lazy (or efficient, I don’t know…) and didn’t want to order sliced meat from Fareway again. I went back to the internet for alternatives and discovered that you can indeed make beef jerky from ground beef. I was excited (as much as I can be) and set out to try making my own.
No real set recipe for this. I used the same method and spices again for Alton Brown’s beef jerky made from flank steak and again used a food dehydrator.
This turned out even better than the first attempt! I felt the ground beef took to the spices just as well as the round steak I had previously used, but was easier to form and place on the dehydrator. Subsequently, it was then easier to consume than the jerky made of round steak. I’d call this one a success!
